DESCRIPTION
Nekton is a not-for-profit research institute committed to the scientific exploration and protection of the world’s ocean. Nekton works in collaboration with the University of Oxford and OMEGA is proud to support their efforts in expanding our knowledge of the world’s oceans.
To commemorate their partnership with Nekton, OMEGA has produced two editions of the famous Diver 300M timepiece. This model features a stainless steel bracelet with a combination brushed and polished finish, enhancing its ability to be worn as a dress watch, while maintaining its sporting brilliance. The timepiece also features a laser ablated black ceramic [ZrO2] dial, grade 5 titanium bezel and caseback embossed with the Nekton submarine medallion.
Originally released in 1993, the Diver 300M was one of the first OMEGA timepieces to feature the ‘Professional’ inscription on the dial, garnering further renown for being chosen by the James Bond franchise for its military heritage, dry martini elegance and action-packed durability.
Maintaining the long ocean heritage of OMEGA, the modern Seamaster Diver 300M collection is updated using cutting-edge technology, resulting in a luxury watch with industry-leading accuracy, timeless design and modern materials.
This special Nekton edition Diver 300M features a laser ablated black ceramic dial, matte finished with the iconic wave pattern polished in positive relief. The uni-directional rotating bezel is in grade 5 titanium, with a textured face and features a laser ablated diving scale. The faceted hands and indexes are filled with white Super-LumiNova, contrasting beautifully with the black dial. Completing the look is an integrated stainless steel bracelet in a combination brushed and polished finish.
This timepiece is powered by OMEGA’s exceptional Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806 movement, officially certified by METAS to withstand magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. The wave-edged caseback houses a sapphire crystal for a clear view of this incredible movement.
